The Finance Council advises the pastor in the areas of administration, finances, and personnel. This Council consists of nine members, including two parish corporate directors, six other parishioners, and the pastor.
The Liturgy Committee strives to provide the best possible environment for worship. Members help the parish music director and pastor to prepare for and evaluate our parish's observation of the liturgical seaons. This committee is responsible for the decoration of our church for the various seasons and feastdays.
The Ladies Guild consists of all adult women in our parish. The Guild's purposes are to care for the church sacristy, rectory, and Guild kitchen; to host parish funeral luncheons; and to fund sacristy expenses and major projects. The Ladies Guild Executive Board meets monthly to organize Guild committees and facilitate Guild fundraising efforts.
The Buildings & Grounds Committee oversees improvements and large maintenance projects for parish buildings and grounds. This committee meets as needed.
The Flowers & Shrubs Committee are volunteers who install and care for parish flowerbeds. This committee meets in April and schedules volunteers for the spring, summer, and fall months.
The Newcomer Welcome Committee visits new parishioners to deliver information about Saint Lawrence parish (including our parish photographic directory), to answer questions, and to encourage participation in parish life.
Parish Neighborhoods are clusters of parish households. These clusters offer an additional layer of identity within our parish, enable more personal contact among parishioners, and volunteer (alone or with other neighborhood groups) to facilitate various parish activities (e.g., waffle breakfast, chicken dinner, garage sale).
Bible Study. A parish small group meets for Bible study, reflection, and prayer on Matthew. Call Deacon Tim Murphy for information 792-0513. A 30-Minute Bible Study group meets in the rectory dining room every Friday during the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter seasons. Additional groups meet during Lent. Check the bulletin for more information.
The Adoration Chapel is located in the Holy Spirit Parish Convent, 219 S. East Street, in Carroll. This chapel is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parishioners may sign up for one or more regular times of prayer and/or stop for a visit anytime.
